Guaranteed Pass - For a small additional fee you can upgrade your course to include all test fees and our guaranteed pass. This means you never have to pay another penny to become a driving instructor and you can rest assured that even if you are unsuccessful at a test we will cover all the costs of any extra work needed to get you ready to try again. We will even pay your test fees again and we will repeat this as many times as it takes until you qualify (ask for details)!

Guaranteed Position once qualified - Unlike some training establishments that just place you with one of their bank of driving schools, our guarantee is that once you are qualified we guarantee you a position with our own national driving school - Key Driving School. We guarantee you a car (replaced every year), guarantee you work, and guarantee you pupils. All of this for a small all-inclusive monthly fee (we don’t charge extra per pupil or per hour worked). You are of course under no obligation to take us up on our offer of a position. If you would prefer to establish your own driving school we will give you lots of help and advice to get you up and running!

Highly Qualified & Experienced Trainers - All of our trainers are ORDIT trained, have a good grade at check test, have completed (or trained for) their Cardington Special Test for driving instructors and regularly partake in our in-house “trainer training” ensuring you receive the very best of training that is always up to date.

High Pass Rate - The national pass rate is only 52% for part 1, 43% for part 2, and just 26% for part 3. We are proud of our pass rates, which are head and shoulders above the national average. We are also very proud of the fact that to date we have NEVER had anybody fail part 2 or part 3 three times and have to start all over again. Tax matters made simple - Let’s think beyond qualification for a moment. All driving instructors in the UK work on a self employed basis. This has many tax advantages. Here at Key we can take care of all of your tax affairs for you and even deal with HMRC on your behalf. We have our very own Chartered Management Accountant who oversees all instructor bookkeeping. This means you can enjoy teaching without the headache of worrying about tax issues. Current Car Details - Because we like to be flexible and offer our driving instructors a great choice we are not tied to one particular make or model of car. Most of our instructors choose to have a Vauxhall Corsa/Astra or a Renault Clio/Megane, but we are able to source almost any vehicle meaning we are happy to cost up your favourite vehicle for you once qualified.

All of our qualified full time instructors enjoy a brand new vehicle that they can use for personal use as well as business. Key Instructor Training Directors

Steve Flower (Managing Director), and Linda Edwards (Director of Training) have a wealth of experience in both teaching learners to drive and most importantly of all driving instructor training. Both are qualified ADI’s and both are registered with the Official Register of Driving Instructor Trainers (ORDIT) which is a non compulsory register operated by the Driving Standards Agency. They also both hold the DSA’s highly acclaimed Cardington Special Test for driving instructors at grade A, and have taken part in other road safety achievements including training with Staffs Police.

Between them they have trained hundreds of people to become driving instructors and helped countless more to further develop their careers. Their ethos on driving instructor training is to make it enjoyable, informative, and easy to understand. Over the years they have developed a style and structure to their training that is quite unique and ensures fantastic results from their trainees. Steve has also worked in business management at the highest level both in the UK and overseas.
